[Plsugs] FW: UofA Sustainability Externship Pinal Co

The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Sustainability Team is
seeking resident undergraduate students for an externship program for the
Summer 2013.  This Externship program is intended to provide undergraduate
students with a work experience addressing community-scale sustainability
projects in several rural communities throughout Arizona.  Qualified externs
will be paid minimum wage ($7.65) for up to 10-12 weeks and 40 hours per
week of work. These Externships will provide students with unique
opportunities to develop and use their 'in-demand' knowledge and skills
about local sustainability, as well as engaging with local stakeholders to
meet the needs of a community.  Externs will work directly with and be
supervised by UA Cooperative Extension Agents in their respective project
communities. Preferably, students will be matched with an Externship project
in the county or community of their residence.  The program is specifically
not limited to science and engineering students, although US citizenship is
required. Applications are especially encouraged from members of
under-represented minority groups and from women. Students must have at
least sophomore standing at the University of Arizona in order to apply.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 17, 2013

My specific program focuses on nutrient management using animal manures. I
have attached the application and then my program proposal that describes
the expectations I have for the position.

I was wondering if you might pass this along in your department to see if
there are any students interested. I know it isn't your area of interest but
I think it has the potential to be a good opportunity for a student.
