Dear Desert Valleys PCAs and University Partners:

 

Once again in 2013, the Board of Directors of the Desert Valleys Chapter of
CAPCA is offering two, $2,000. scholarships. One of these scholarships is
available to a graduating high school senior interested in a field of study
in Agriculture, and a second to an enrolled  college student interested in a
field of study in Agriculture. Please find attached an application and
letter with additional details.  Applications must be postmarked by April
19, 2013.

The Desert Valleys Chapter of CAPCA appreciates your making a copy of this
application available to a young person who may be interested in receiving
one of these two scholarships in 2013.

 

In addition, the CAPCA state organization offers scholarships through the
Stanley W. Strew Foundation. The Stanley W. Strew Educational Fund, Inc.,
annually offers two scholarships of $2,000 each. Applications are available
on line at "Plantdoctor.org"

 

The scholarships are given to college students who are currently attending
school, are entering or returning to college in agricultural or
horticultural fields, plan to pursue a career in pest management, and have a
2.5 GPA or better.

 

Students who are interested in applying or need more information can contact
The Stanley W. Strew Educational Fund, 2300 River Plaza Dr #120, Sacramento,
CA 95833 (916) 928-1625. Applications are also available on line at
"Plantdoctor.org."

 

The Stanley W. Strew Educational Fund was formed by the California
Association of Pest Control Advisers (CAPCA), as a means of formally
promoting the educational programs that enhance and explain the role of the
licensed pest control advisor (PCA) in the production of food, fiber, and
ornamental crops.
