FYI, the Special Rapporteur on Water initiated a similar initiative on the water and food nexus, also deadline by yesterday (see one attachment).
The other attachment seeks to provides answers, referring to customary water tenure by smallholders and pastoralists.

Dear All,

Regarding the written inputs to the special rapporteur,

I would recommend sending any inputs (including already written reports or other materials on the questionnaire topics) to the Office of the Special Rapporteur even though the deadline has passed. They might informally accept further materials (this is my personal opinion).

Also, I am helping to co-organise the online consultations on the 19th and 20th March.

I'm afraid that there is not much space for further people to speak given the short (2 hour) session. Even if things run perfectly (unlikely given the complexity of language interpretation and internet connectivity), there is only space for approximately 24 people to speak for 5 minutes over the course of 2 hours.

A tentative programme will be circulated shortly for the virtual consultations on the 19th and 20th March.

I  think there is a special section on issues related to women as well . I will try and email that too if i find it fast enough as  I am in workshops and meetings  the next 2 days

The call is specifically about the situation of mobile IPs, e.g. pastoralists, and explicitly refers to the IYRP2026:

The United Nations has taken a number of actions that address the rights of mobile Indigenous Peoples …. At the request of pastoralists, NGOs, research institutions and governmental organisations, the General Assembly declared 2026 the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists to be facilitated by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).

Please submit relevant information in English, French or Spanish to hrc-sr-indigenous at un.org<mailto:hrc-sr-indigenous at un.org> by 15 March 2024. Particularly the IYRP Working Group on Land will hopefully be able to respond to this call so quickly.
