The video and the three-page document that you just shared with us are amazing and couldn´t be more timely contributions, particularly as “Valuing Rangeland Variability” is the main topic of the game-changer idea that Maryam et al., have recently crafted and which forms the core concept for the parallel session we are about to propose to the upcoming UNFSS<https://www.un.org/en/food-systems-summit/pre-summit>.

Given the importance for this info to be also available/accessible ASAP in other languages I just translated your document into Spanish. Please find it attached in a WORD format which I think in general should be fine but is always perfectible. I hope it is useful.

Dear Pedro,

Misereor was the main funder or the video and paid for (dubbed) translations into French, Fulfulde, Swahili, Amharic and Dutch (I think it was the Belgian Govt that paid for this one). They didn’t even finance a German version, although Misereor is German. We will have to find more funds to be able to make subtitles in other languages, e.g. Spanish.

This video film was created by Cartoonbase and realised by CELEP (Coalition of European Lobbies for Eastern African Pastoralism), VSFB (Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Belgium), MISEREOR Association of German Dioceses and the Belgian Government.
The film is in support of the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP).
A short (3-page) background paper “Pastoralists turn variability into food” gives more details about the message in the film (see attachment).
