[CED/CD/EAT] Emergency preparation in County Offices

Dear County Extension Directors,

On behalf of Dominic Rodriguez and me, and in response to the emergency preparedness efforts on campus, we ask for your assistance to ensure our county offices have similar emergency plans, and review them with your faculty and staff on an annual basis.  We recognize that county Extension offices are not the same as schools or departments when it comes to emergency preparedness, and the security issues are also unique from location to location.  One size does not fit all.

If you don't have a plan, the first place to look would be your county emergency management office.  Many such offices have standard plans for county offices that can be easily adapted to fit the needs of Cooperative Extension.  Other references come from the University:

This plan may be more than you need, but it can serve as a springboard to review your own plan and inspire improvements.

Please also feel free to reach out to either Dominic or myself.  Our primary goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of our colleagues wherever they may work.  Upon the completion of your plan, please share it with Dominic so that we can archive all plans centrally, and support a coordinated response with campus in the event of an emergency.  If you haven't already done so, we would appreciate receiving them by September 30 but are happy to work with you if you would like additional time.
