Everyone, these slides are from an update given to the NASEM on Tuesday.  We have been trying to position strategically for what you see on the slides for a decade. With a few exceptions, the nation and the world has been moving this way and nothing of what is on these slides is a surprise to those on this email (and your employees) enmasse. Some, of course, have been moved into the public's consciousness because of recent national and international events. You are all at the front line of research and Extension for the issues in these slides as well many others. In Extension you are expected to help solve today's problems, for research we must continue to be thinking and investing in people and infrastructure ahead of the curve so we can respond to calls for proposals.
