[CED/CD/EAT] Active Faculty Searches - A Request for Information

Good afternoon, CALS Unit Heads and County Extension Directors,



Dean Burgess has requested an enhanced visibility of, and a central repository for, all current faculty/agent searches in CALS and in Extension. After some discussion between me and the webmasters, we have come up with the following plan below. As you read through, please note that while there will be some initial work on your part, this plan is designed for easy maintenance – as searches end and new ones begin, these can be inserted into the site by the CALS/Extension web team.



We will develop a highly visible web page on COMPASS that lists current searches, lists the members of the search committees, and stresses our commitment to diversity in all hiring. A link and an icon directing people to this page will be housed on the CALS main website and on the Extension main website – and we ask that each Unit also place this link in a highly visible location on their own website. Once the new web page is functional, we will develop an announcement that will be forwarded within and beyond the UA, to ensure that people are aware of this site and all that it contains. Though we will list contact information for the search chair, the site will name me as the main contact person to take on some of the questions about the search process.



What I am asking of you is to provide, by July 7:

  *   The postings for all active recruitments in your unit – including closing date, if applicable
  *   Name and email address of committee chair
  *   Names of other committee members
  *   Name and email address of admin support person for the search



**If you do not have any active searches at this time, please reply to this email to let me know – that way, I will not pester you for follow-up**
