1. Learn, Do and Review!
Attend the educational summit classes in person and then volunteer implementing what the experts shared in the forum, working in the field alongside experts making loose rock dams and eradicating invasive plant species. The Sky Islands in Southern Arizona are the most biodiverse area in the United States! Come learn about this amazing ecosystem and how to restore arid lands. Ten ecological restoration experts will give 45 minute lectures during the week long event on subjects such as water retention techniques, soil regeneration, green corridors and food forests. Includes 6 nights lodging and food at Diamond Mountain Retreat Center. Free event for accepted volunteers (donations to SkyHarvest encouraged!) Apply to attend online at SkyHarvest.org

11:30 am Rudy Poe, MLA Landscape architect,  PDC Permaculture designer with Geoff Lawton, on humans and nature working together.
3:00 pm Josiah Austin, conservationist and restorationist at Cienega Ranch, on how to restore rivers in the arid Southwest.

11:30 am - San Carlos Apache Tribal Member (unconfirmed) on how environmental degradation affects local people and how people can both participate and benefit from ecological restoration.
3:00 pm Francesca Claverie, Native Plant Program Director at Borderlands Restoration Network, on nurturing native plant biodiversity in the Southwestern US.

11:30 am Board Member or staff of International Biochar Initiative (unconfirmed) on the use of biochar to combat global warming and improve soil.
3:00 pm Caleb Weaver, Community Restoration Program Manager at Borderlands Restoration Network, on how humans can support wildlife at home.
