Vacancy- Assistant Professor in Wildlife Habitat Ecology in Rangeland Systems
College of Natural Resources, University of Idaho

The Department of Fish and Wildlife Sciences and the Rangeland Center in the College of Natural Resources (CNR) invites applications for an academic-year, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor in Wildlife Habitat Ecology.

              The successful applicant will help advance teaching, research, and outreach related to wildlife habitat dynamics on rangelands, as well as livestock-wildlife interactions. This appointment will include responsibilities for teaching/advising (30%), research (45%) and outreach/service (25%). The position is located on the main University campus in Moscow, Idaho. The incumbent is expected to become a leader in the College's efforts to advance student understanding of how to assess and manage wildlife habitat in grasslands and shrublands of western North America.

Applicants must: 1) hold a Ph.D. in Wildlife Science, Rangeland Ecology or closely related field by the time of application, 2) have designed, conducted and published peer-reviewed research results related to wildlife habitat ecology, 3) demonstrate experience conducting research in rangeland ecosystems,  4) demonstrate experience with teaching courses or workshops at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, 5) demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills relevant to scientific and land management audiences.
