[Plsgs] Request feedback on graduate student seminar evaluation process

Dear All,

As the seminar series heads into a stretch of presenting your fellow talented student speakers, we will be continuing our tradition of evaluating each student seminar speaker to identify strengths and areas for improvement. This process is intended to help the students to become excellent speakers.

This evaluation process includes two parts:

  1.  Audience evaluation: An evaluation form will be distributed to all attendees to complete at the end of the seminar. The forms will be collected, and a summary of the feedback will be shared with each student during their meeting with their major advisor.
  2.  Individual Faculty Feedback: Student speakers will choose two faculty members who are not their major advisors to independently evaluate their seminar. Afterward, student speakers will meet with these faculty members at a mutually agreed time to discuss the feedback, including strengths and areas for improvement.

Since you guys are the primary beneficiaries of this process, I would like to hear your feedback on the process as well as the draft evaluation form attached to this email. Please take a moment to review it and let me know any comments or suggested changes by noon tomorrow, as Kelsey takes the stage at 4 pm.
