Hi everyone,

I wanted to follow up on my post from last month.

  1.
I made an error on the room number where the distill water unit is housed. It is in Marley 418.
  2.
I also wanted to inform that if you are using it for the first time to please inform me before handling the unit. Our lab will train anyone who wants to use the still. Even if another member in the lab has been trained, please do not have them train others in your lab. It is best we do that training. It is crucial that we train it so that the delicate instrument is not handled wrongly and is available contamination free for everyone.
  3.
I thought about it some more and want renege on the offer of issuing a key to my lab. I now request that you please collect the water when we are in the lab. My contact information is posted on the lab door if the lab doors are locked.

Thank you
Ravi

Subject: New distill water unit

Hi everyone

I wanted to inform that the SPLS has paid for and installed a new Thermofisher Distil water unit. This unit is housed in my lab (Marley 420, picture below). It was originally approved during the tenure of Karen Schumaker and Amanda Stevens oversaw the ouches and installation.

Since the installation (during COVID time), it had many defects and working with Thermofisher and Cres Snyder, I fixed all of them. Thanks to all the directors of SPLS since then who authorized the repair costs.

Now the unit is working well. You and your lab are welcome to use it by fetching distilled water from the unit.

If you want to have access to my lab during after hours and when no one in my lab is around, please email me to request a key to my lab and I will authorize the SPLS Business office to issue one.

Thank you
Ravi
