Dear colleagues,
With this email I am sharing my intent to establish two Associate Director positions in the School of Plant Sciences, and to open the nomination/application process for these positions.
The information provided below is put forward as outlined in the attached policy.
The positions are described below and are based on an evaluation of needs in the unit that challenge the scope of an individual person to address. These positions will not cover all aspects of the unit, but their designation is not meant to imply that any member of the unit does not have a seat at the table. As always, I encourage everyone to contact me at any time: deliberate action and thoughtful responses may take some time, but I am here for unit needs (520.396.0854 and on email). In our next faculty meeting I will discuss a proposed leadership model centered around inclusion, respect for our many missions, and attention to the important endeavors to which our faculty commit considerable talent, resources, and time.
I consider these positions a wise investment in the scope of responsibilities needed not only to maintain, but also to advance, our School, our mission delivery, and our people. Please consider applying, as detailed below. Application packets will be accepted through close of business on Monday, November 25.
If you have any questions, please contact me (arnold at ag.arizona.edu).
Warm regards,
Betsy
