[Plsfaculty] Microbiology Town Hall December 6th

To the members of the CALES Microbiology Community,

Over the last handful of years the undergraduate Microbiology major at UA has weathered a variety of challenges, but during this time we have also begun to reorganize and restructure our community in ways that we believe will benefit all interested parties.

Specifically, the Microbiology major has officially become a shared program across ACBS, SPLS, and ENVS with governance of the major overseen by an Executive Committee as well as a Curriculum Committee. We are now poised to build and strengthen this program from the new foundation up, with a main goal of building a thriving community in which we all feel welcome and where we all have a stake in contributing to future success.

With this in mind, we would like to invite all members of our community to a town hall meeting to be held on Friday December 6th from 12:30-1:30 in ENR2 S107. We will also offer a hybrid zoom link for those that can't attend in person, and will record the town hall for those that cannot participate at that time. During this town hall the Executive Committee and School Heads will update everyone on the state of the program and to answer any questions and to hear any comments you may have about our future trajectory and direction. Please feel free to either contact members of the executive committee with these questions/comments/concerns beforehand or ask them during the town hall.
