Given the concerns about our current university financial situation, I wanted to provide you with today’s SPBAC notes as soon as possible.

SPBAC Meeting Nov 15, 2023

  1.  Update on University Financial Situation and “Cash on Hand Metric”

     *   Opening Remarks from President Robbins
     *   Presentation from Lisa Rulney (VP Financial Affairs and CFO) and Steve Kelly (Asst VP, Treasury) on “Cash on Hand Metric”

  1.  Discussion of Potential Options (Combination of Short term, Long term, and Corrective options)

     *   Debt restructure
     *   Land sale
     *   Pause or reduce FY25 salary increase program
     *   Revise merit aid matrix
     *   End or revise tuition guarantee
     *   Addressing unit-specific issues (accountability via monthly budget/actual review and reforecasting).

  1.  Meeting Adjourned

     *   Time only allowed for bringing the “Potential Options” to the table, with very limited time to discuss the listed options or additional options that were brought forward.
     *   There was agreement to return to the Projected Options discussion in the next SPBAC meeting
