Subject: [uaccess_instructors] Fall 2014 Grading Information

To All Fall 2014 Instructors:

Important Grading Dates

Instructor Center Grade Rosters Available: December 11, 2014

Grades Due: no later than 48 hours after the final examination is held (excluding weekends)

Miscalculations/Errors: grade roster is open for correcting miscalculations/errors through December 31, 2014--after this date, a miscalculation button will become available in Instructor Center, which starts a workflow for approval/denial of miscalculations/errors

Failing Grades and Attendance

* If the student never attended your class, a grade of E or F should be awarded and the Attendance field should be set to Never Attended.

* If the student stopped attending, the student should be awarded the grade earned at the end of the term based on attendance and completed/not completed work for the entire semester. If the grade earned is a failing grade, the Attendance field should be set to Stopped Attending and the last date of attendance must be entered. If you don't take attendance, this should be the date of the last academically related activity (paper, quiz, D2L/Blackboard logon). You can approximate the date if you don't know the exact date by using the first of the month, the 15th or the last date of the month.

* If a graduate or professional student withdrew from the university for the term, you will see a grade of WP (withdraw pass). If the student was failing at the time of withdrawal, you may request a change to WF (withdraw fail); use the Notify Registrar button to request this change. This option is not available for undergraduate students who are assigned a grade of WC (withdraw complete).

* If the student completed the term and earned a failing grade then choose the Completed Term option for the Attendance field.

Detailed directions to all grading matters can be found in the Instructor Center Handbook here:
