The Mosaic Project is pleased to announce our Research Administration
project, branded as UAccess Research, now has a production environment in
place. UAccess Research is using the Kuali Coeus (KC) 2.0 system for
research and grant management.  

Phase 1a implementation of UAccess Research going live on Monday, November
15, 2010, includes the KC Proposal Development and Institutional Proposal
modules, which will be utilized as a back-office function for the Sponsored
Projects Services (SPS) office. UAccess Research will be utilized in
parallel with UA's current research administration system, SPINS, allowing
SPS to continue entering proposals in SPINS until all proposals for fiscal
year 2011 have been entered in KC and reports are built and validated in
UAccess Analytics.  

SPINS and UIS will continue to be the source of record for all Sponsored
Projects Services activity until full back-office implementation of UAccess
Research is complete, which includes KC Awards (Phase 1b) and UAccess
Analytics (Phase 1c). An alternate solution for Office of Research and
Contract Analysis (ORCA) functions is also being considered. The date for
final implementation of KC and retirement of SPINS has not yet been
determined.

**UAccess Research data coming to Analytics!**

UAccess Research data will be available in UAccess Analytics on January 10,
2011. Conversion of historic data will not occur, so only limited current
fiscal year data will be available. The initial data will include proposal
data as it becomes available.  

Updates will be made available through 3D announcements, the Mosaic Announce
listserv, the Mosaic Community, and the Mosaic website as training,
dashboards, and subject areas become available.
