* Former UA President Peter Likins was one of the major architects of
creating a UA community that recognizes diversity as a crucial measure of
quality for research, teaching, and for the formation of a premier
learning/working environment. In recognition of the profound impact of his
leadership, the 2005 inaugural Inclusive Excellence Award (IEA) was not only
presented to President Likins, but was also named after him in tribute.
