Dear all,
As the IYRP2026 is intended - among other things - to give voice to pastoralists and their organisations, we have started to include several international declarations of pastoralists under Resources on the front page of our website - see https://iyrp.info/resources/front <https://iyrp.info/resources/front>
“International” means here involving pastoralists coming from several different countries, but not necessarily all (global).
As you can see, also some older declarations (going back to Dana 2002) are included, but I think we will not go back further than that.
Please let us know about additional international declarations of pastoralists - especially more recent ones - for inclusion in the website.
We are not including the declaration of governments regarding pastoralism, e.g.the Nouakchott Declaration on Pastoralism of 2013, but we could consider making yet another section for such statements. Especially in this case, it would be interesting to monitor the extent to which these multi-government declarations led to implementation?
Cheers,
Ann
PS: Thanks to Megha, South Asia Pastoral Alliance, for suggesting this new section and thanks to Craig at U of Arizona for setting it up!
