**On Thursday, 14 November 2024, the Development Law Service of the Food
and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in
collaboration with the Animal Production and Health and the Rural
Transformation and Gender Equality divisions, invites experts and
stakeholders to a virtual exchange on FAO-developed legal diagnostic tools.

These interactive webinars will showcase various FAO legal diagnostic
tools, followed by discussions on experiences and lessons learned from
their development and application.

The insights gathered will inform the creation of a new diagnostic tool
focused on supporting pastoralist communities by addressing legal gaps
in pastoralism-specific policy frameworks. This tool is being developed
under the "Water and Food Security Initiative for Africa 2" (IESA 2)
project to strengthen resource access and sustainable livelihoods for
pastoralists in the Sahel region, with a broader application in view for
the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (2026).
