[IYRPsupportgroup] FOR FEEDBACK by 7 Oct: IYRP draft resolutions at IRC-IGC Joint Congress

Dear IYRP International Support Group

The Joint International Grassland and International Rangeland Congress is
being held 25 – 29th October 2021 virtually. One of the main themes of this
Joint Congress is “Pastoralism, Social, Gender and Policy Issues”, in which
the IYRP has been given two dedicated Concurrent Sessions on 26th October
2021. We are also grateful that the IYRP has been given a free
Booth/Exhibit in the Information Market Place/Trade Show Area, and several
individual scientific papers are focusing on pastoralism and rangelands.

The Joint Congress which is held every 4 years, is the highest scientific
body for international rangeland and grassland issues. One of the Panel
discussions during the IYRP Concurrent Sessions is being set aside for
discussion of three possible Congress Resolutions. Congress Resolutions
normally show commitment of members to take action in the 4 years before
the next Congress, which will be in 2025. In our case, these resolutions
are intended to provide guidance and direction for the Continuing
Committees of both Congresses to further engage in supporting IYRP up to
2026.

We would like to ask your kind review of these three proposed draft
resolutions. With your feedback, these draft resolutions will be tabled at
the IYRP Concurrent Session on 26th October, 5:25 – 6:00 pm Nairobi Time
for further discussion and approval. It will then be handed to the Congress
Secretariat for a final endorsement during the Congress Plenary meeting.
