Following the information about the launch of the PASTRES Book, "Is
Livestock always bad for the environment" that Ann sent -  Here is another
new book from Dr. Ilse Koehler-Rollefson that goes beyond climate and
carbon, to cover other environmental, economic and social issues.

These two books are a great way to provide a backdrop to the upcoming
discussion in the UN General Assembly for designation of IYRP 2026. Please
do try to join the two events.

Dear All,

LPP is pleased to announce the launch of a new booklet entitled 'Livestock
for a Small Planet' which disentangles the various allegations brought
against livestock. It also challenges the 'livestock efficiency paradigm'
and suggests that rather than further intensification we need to extensify
livestock keeping and can learn important lessons from pastoralists if we
want to keep livestock keeping within planetary boundaries.

This promises to be a lively event with Elizabeth Katushabe, Ankole cattle
breeder and Focal Point of PENHA Uganda; Frank Mitloeher of CLEAR Centre UC
Davis, USA; Peer Ederer, Scientific Council of the World Farmers
Organization; Shirley Tarawli, Chair of the Global Agenda for Sustainable
Livestock (GASL), moderated by Nitya Ghotge of ANTHRA (India).
