Dear all,

Here is the December 2024 newsletter of the Global Alliance for the IYRP, with quite a bit about its activities and the messages it is conveying during the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification Conference of Parties #16 (UNCCD COP16), which is currently underway in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The newsletter also brings updates from the IYRP thematic Working Groups and from some of the Regional IYRP Support Groups (RISGs). More detailed updates from the RISGs will soon be posted on the respective regional webpages, which you can enter from the front page of the IYRP website (www.iyrp.info <http://www.inyrp.info/>) by clicking on the photos of the regions.

One thing that I just now realised that Igshaan and I forgot to include in this update is the launching of the third edition of the Perspectives on Pastoralism Film Festival in September 2024 in Vienna, Austria. You may also notice on the website that we have included a new feature at the top of the front page: a sliding list of major achievements of the IYRP Global Alliance and planned events in 2025 and 2026. This is still work in progress - many more items will be added in the new couple of weeks, so keep an eye on it.
