Everyone,



I received what has become my annual email from the Chair of the Faculty last week. Once again our college is standing out because we have failed to elect sufficient Faculty Senators. Completely apart from the fact that AZ statute ('92 15-1601) states that all AZ Higher Education enterprise faculty are OBLIGATED to participate in shared governance, and appointed administrators are OBLIGATED to listen, shared governance is a fundamental part of what makes us who we are. I'm committed to transparency and this can't happen in CALS or at the UA without functioning shared governance.



Many of you have served in the past, and many of you are serving in other shared governance roles already. Thank you. Every CALS faculty member has the potential to be an invaluable leader at the university level. CALS has a very strong history of Faculty Senate leadership. If you have any interest at all in this essential service to us all please contact Lynn Nadel (cc'd), I know that he will be thrilled to discuss the this with you.
