Deadline: August 3, 2015
Through its new Making a Difference in Real-World Bioethics Dilemmas program, the foundation will support mentored projects, senior collaborations, normative analyses of implications of empirical research conducted with other funding, empirical projects, and empirical studies of attitudes of clinical trials participants to sharing clinical trials data. Examples of the kinds of bioethics problems projects might address include ethical and policy issues related to the increasing use of big data and mobile health applications in clinical care and research; ethical issues arising in clinical and system interventions to reduce health disparities and in carrying out research in health disparities; ethical issues concerning the loss of cognitive, procedural, and physical skills in physicians because of age or illness; dilemmas raised by innovative biomedical research and by new communication technologies in clinical medicine; dilemmas from major changes in the delivery of U.S. health care resulting from the Affordable Care and Patient Protection Acts, changes in the FDA regulatory process, and private initiatives; and other dilemmas that are particularly salient.

The program awards grants of up to $50,000, typically extending over periods of one to four years. To be eligible, principal investigators and co-PIs must have a doctorate in an academic discipline or professional field, or have appropriate experience in an education research-related profession. Shubert Foundation- Dance and Theatre Grants
Deadline: October 15, 2015 (dance, arts related, and education); December 1, 2015 (theatre)
The foundation awards unrestricted grants for general operating support rather than for specific project funding. Grants are awarded exclusively to U.S. nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations. Grants will be made only to organizations that have an established artistic and administrative track record as well as a track record of fiscal responsibility. The foundation does not provide funds for project support, audience development, direct subsidies of reduced-price admissions, media (film, TV, and radio), renovation projects, or capital or endowment campaigns. No grants are made to conduit organizations (agencies that disburse funds to individuals or other organizations).
