Subject: Please help us distribute to Cooperative Extension partners! Community Needs and Assets Survey for Environmental Health

Dear Dr. Ed Martin,

Congratulations on your new appointment at Cooperative Extension!
Over the years, our lab, Dr. Monica Ramirez-Andreotta's Integrated Environmental Science and HealthRisk Lab<https://ramirez-andreotta.faculty.arizona.edu/>, has collaborated with Cooperative Extension to reach out to rural and urban communities in Arizona to address environmental health concerns that they have identified as important to their well-being.
Currently, we are working on building an interactive mapping tool that considers each community’s strengths and needs and ultimately influences their resiliency or vulnerability to environmental threats.
This project is titled, the Health Opportunity Wellness Landscape (HOWL)<https://www.superfund.arizona.edu/cores/administrative-and-research-translation-core/health-opportunity-wellness-landscape-howl> and is part of the larger Superfund Research Center. As part of our initial efforts, we want to hear directly from the community and get their input on what factors contribute to their community’s environmental, economic, political, and social well-being.
We have put together the “Community Needs and Assets Survey” and would like to ask for your help in reaching out to all of your faculty and staff, as well as your partners and collaborators across Arizona to distribute this survey.
We anticipate this survey to take approximately 25 minutes and would like to gather all responses by August 2nd, 2021.
Attached are flyers in English and Spanish for distribution.

A sample of an email template is provided below:

Dear Cooperative Extension partner,
In face of environmental challenges due to natural and human-made causes, the University of Arizona NIEHS Superfund Research Program- Research Translation Core, is building an online environmental health mapping tool by the name of Health Opportunity Wellness Landscape (HOWL). This tool will be available to community members, policymakers, and researchers to visualize environmental health resiliencies and vulnerabilities in rural and urban Arizona communities.
Please take a moment to participate and distribute the “Community Needs and Assets Survey” as a first step in identifying what factors contribute to your community’s resiliency or vulnerability. As local experts, you are the best source of knowledge, and it is important everyone’s voice is heard!
You can learn more about HOWL here: https://www.superfund.arizona.edu/cores/administrative-and-research-translation-core/health-opportunity-wellness-landscape-howl
The survey can be accessed here: https://redcap.uahs.arizona.edu/surveys/?s=CFXCJACCJ3ATR3K4
And is also available in Spanish: https://redcap.uahs.arizona.edu/surveys/?s=WYWMRRAJMYFPMNWX
We anticipate this survey to take approximately 25 minutes and would like to gather all responses by August 2nd, 2021.

A $10 Target gift card is available to all who complete the survey.

Please contact Principal Investigator Dr. Monica Ramirez-Andreotta with any questions at mdramire at email.arizona.edu<mailto:mdramire at email.arizona.edu>

We appreciate your continued partnership in helping bring the University of Arizona’s science and research to the community.

Thank you so much for your help, Dr. Martin! Please feel free to reach out with any questions. We are happy to work with you and your team!
