[CED/CD/EAT] Strategic narrative for hiring plan

Academic and Extension Unit Heads,

For several years, the Provost has approved our hiring plan without a written narrative.  This year they have requested a narrative to accompany each position in our hiring request.

Units with tenure/continuing track positions, please write a sentence or two and return to me no later than Wednesday, July 17 (sentences are not required for non-tenure/continuing positions): How will the proposed position engage students, innovate research, partner externally, and/or synergize within the university?


*         FCS, Asst/Assoc Professor, RCSC Consumer Behavior

*         SNRE, Asst Professor, Adaptive Management of Rangeland

*         SPS, Asst Professor, Plant Microbe Interaction

*         SPS, Open Rank, Digital Ag in Plant Sciences

*         ACBS, Asst/Assoc Specialist

*         Pinal County, Asst/Assoc Agent, 4-H

*         Mohave County, Asst/Assoc Agent, 4-H

*         Pima County, Asst/Assoc Agent, 4-H

*         NSC, Assoc Specialist, FCHS

Searches must utilize best recruitment and hiring practices.  All unit heads should review page 2 of the attached Provost's memo and ensure their search committees follow the expectations.  Thanks for your help.
