Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to share new guidance received for the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data Systems (IPEDS) and the changes that will be implemented immediately for students in the Schedule For Success<https://click.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=26fbf672c3af7289119f8578a26a0d28283ba23a19485afad5b5457e031b6bf00b09a6b045c672d18be309bac6670365d5441ff5d97127b5> (S4S) program.
Every year, University Analytics and Institutional Research (UAIR) reviews IPEDS guidelines to assess for updates as IPEDS mandated reporting definitions evolve over time. During the recent review, UAIR identified that while the reporting instructions have not changed, IPEDS recently clarified the definition of first-time full-time (FTFT) and first-time part-time (FTPT) cohorts in an FAQ:
First-time undergraduate students who are determined to be full-time enrolled for federal financial aid purposes [emphasis added] must be cohorted with the FTFT population.
No changes will be made to the S4S related courses or program supports this semester. However, the unit cap will be removed effective immediately and students will have the opportunity to register for additional classes. Affected students<https://click.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=26fbf672c3af7289bafa76406780bd5c06e7d836d9b82177ce0e17625910f654d1118423332c475ce8728abcfe7fd10bd73088e014de3c35> and key campus partners will be notified in the coming days.
Thank you for helping to support the success of our students. More information will be shared in the coming weeks. Please email ScheduleforSuccess at arizona.edu<mailto:ScheduleforSuccess at arizona.edu?subject=> if you need guidance with identifying your impacted students.
Sincerely,
Ronald W. Marx
