Good Morning, Agvisors!

I hope that your first "week" of classes has been a good one. As you likely noticed in the Academic Eligibility Warning Plan (attached for easy reference), major advisors are slated to reach out to your students today to get the ball rolling on them setting up a meeting with you.  To assist you with the process, I am providing a sample template below. Feel free to use it, tweak it, or use your own and send through Emma or whatever email method works best for you.

Self-assessment results are still rolling it, but I will provide each of you with the information from your particular students so that you can get a sense of the opportunities and challenges they experience prior to your meeting with them. A reminder will go out to those who have not completed on Tuesday.

Dear Major/Program Name Students,

I hope that you have had a great start to Spring Semester! So that I can support you in your academics, please schedule a meeting with me no later than February 28th. During our meeting, we will review your Academic Support Plan, discuss your current courses, plans for future courses, and answer any questions you have. To schedule a meeting with me [meeting scheduling instructions].

At this point, you should have completed the self-assessment received by email from Nancy Lorta-Rodriguez and have an appointment scheduled with a college advisor in Forbes 203. If you have not yet done so, please contact them by phone: 520-621-3616 or email: advising at cals.arizona.edu<mailto:advising at cals.arizona.edu>. Don't forget to check the CALS Academic Student Portal in D2L on the 2020 non-term tab for regular updates, tips, tools, and a checklist for items and meetings required as part of your Academic Eligibility status.
