Greetings Advisors:

GRO POLICY REMINDER

As you will recall, the proposal to revise the GRO policy <http://advising.arizona.edu/sites/default/files/Grade%20Replacement%20Opportunity-Revisions%205-12-16%20.pdf> to change from 60 attempted units to 60 earned units was approved by Faculty Senate at their May meeting. Please note that implementation is not effective until spring 2017. Students with 60 attempted units will not be eligible for GRO during the fall semester.

TRANSFER STUDENT CATALOG

Most often it doesn't matter that all transfer students are automatically placed into the catalog in which they first enroll at the UA. This is not something apparent to many students and may go unnoticed by some advisors.

Sometimes, however, there is a significant change in degree requirements, and transfer students from any AZ public institution who have maintained continuous enrollment have established their UA catalog (degree requirements) upon their first enrollment at the former institution. The transfer credit detail tab in UAccess shows when courses were completed. Transfer students should be made aware that they can be moved back to their original, established catalog, and it is the advisor's responsibility to change the catalog year (aka program plan requirement terms) in UAccess.

The choice of catalog<http://catalog.arizona.edu/policy/choice-catalog> policy is:

Students maintaining continuous enrollment<http://catalog.arizona.edu/policy/continuous-enrollment-undergraduate-students> follow the requirements outlined by the Catalog in effect when they first enroll in the University of Arizona or in a public Arizona community college or university (i.e., term of admission).

The Career, Program, Plan, & Sub-Plan Requirement Terms Business Guide is found on the ARC website: Advisor (web auth)>Professional Development and Training > UAccess for Advisors > Business Process Guides > Program Plan Requirement Terms<http://advising.arizona.edu/sites/default/files/Program%20Plan%20Req%20Terms.pdf>

SECOND START

An announcement with the details all advisors want and need is coming soon! Please continue to discuss the new policy with re-admitted students who have no UA enrollment since spring 2013, and once the mechanism for declaring is finalized the announcement will be sent. Thank you for your patience.

Questions? Your best first resource is your college advising director (generic title). I hope you will feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance as well.

I wish each of you a fantastic July 4th holiday and a restful July! You deserve nothing less.

Best-

Roxie
