Hello Advisors,

At yesterday's Faculty Senate meeting, two academic policy proposals were approved:   (1) a proposal from the Vice Provost for Digital Learning & Student Engagement to create Student Engagement Policies and Guidelines; and (2) a proposal from the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs to simplify the General Education - Tier One Study Area Requirements (attached).

The Student Engagement Policies and Guidelines will be effective in Summer/Fall 2015 for all undergraduates, so you'll find those in the 2015-16 Catalog (TBA).

The revisions of Tier One Study Area requirements will NOT be effective for undergraduates until Summer/Fall 2016, so you won't find this in the 2015-16 Catalog,  The implementation delay is needed for UAccess Student staff to make all the changes to Student Academic Advisement Reports, Smart Planner, and other UA systems.  However, you may make course adjustments for any incoming transfer students without AGECs who are negatively impacted by this one-year postponement.  More information about managing this delay will be forthcoming.
