Dear Advising Community:

The time has come for the UPAC co-chair election! The two-year term for
Renée Schafer Horton and Jared Burton ends at the end of May. Thus, we are
seeking nominations to fill these two-year term positions. This is a great
opportunity for leadership in the advising community. You have two options
for nominations:

· Nominate yourself

· Nominate a colleague

The nomination is simple and can be completed in less than two minutes at
this link: http://tinyurl.com/lsjautj. Nominations will be accepted until
April 2 and general responsibilities are listed below nomination
information.

We will contact nominees on April 3 to ask if they want to accept their
nomination. If they agree, they will be asked to attend the April 9 UPAC
meeting and each have 1 minute to introduce themselves and explain why they
want to serve on UPAC.

After that meeting, nominees will be given instructions on nomination
statement requirements. These statements will be due by April 15 and
submitted to Jared Burton burtonj at email.arizona.edu. Statements will be
distributed to voting members of UPAC by April 23, and online voting will be
held from April 28 to May 5. The new co-chairs will be announced at the May
14 UPAC meeting. Please consider nominating someone. You can nominate more
than one person.

Attached find the nomination and voting guidelines for reference. If you
have any questions about the guidelines, please contact Roxie Catts at
Catts at email.arizona.edu. Clarification questions regarding nomination
process can be addressed to Renee Schafer Horton,
rshorton at email.arizona.edu.

Thank you for your participation!

Okay before this starts going into a freak out tailspin about the
nominations link... I am meeting with Candace tomorrow and we had set aside
time to discuss the link. She has told me that it will take a very short
amount of time to get everything up and going. No need to worry!

Sincerely,

The call for nominations wording and email and am reworking it right now.
That said, can't tell if the link is working. I will contact Candace asap
for access to that, but we'll have to decide about the voting timeline/link
thing after the April 9 meeting.

Subject: UPAC Nomination and Voting Timeline

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is having a restful Spring Break thus far! Here is the plan
we went over last week regarding UPAC Elections.

1. Send out request for Co-Chair nominations on March 26th and accept them
until April 2nd.

2. Contact nominees on April 3rd and give them until April 7th to accept
their nomination. We can then introduce them at the meeting on April 9th.
Did we plan in giving them time to talk?

3. Nomination statements are due by April 15. These statements should be no
more than 400 words and need to answer the following question, "Why do you
want to be UPAC Co-Chair?". They can also include any goals they might have,
but we aren't going to hold them to a set amount.

4. Originally we planned in sending these statements out by April 23rd, but
since Candace has superhero abilities, we could do this before that date.
Thoughts?

5. Voting will start on April 28th and end on May 5th. We will announce the
winners at the last UPAC meeting in May.

Did I miss anything? I plan being out of the office on Thursday and Friday,
but I will check my email. March Madness here we come!

Thanks,

Michael
