Hi Nancy,

 

I hope the semester is going well for you!  In addition the new features
that were added to Smart Planner last week we just finished the CALS Default
Option for majors with sub plans.

 

A few advisors had requested a generic plan be built for those that have sub
plans. The idea was to give students who have declared a major, but still
unsure about what sub plan to choose, time to figure it out while still
being able to use Smart Planner. 

 

Students in your college will now see an "I'm not ready to choose" option
listed with the other available sub plans  when they first access Smart
Planner. When it is selected students will see 1 to 4 semesters planned for
them that they can customize just like the regular plans. 

 

Students will be asked each time they return if they are ready to pick a sub
plan. If a student is nearing the end of their generic or "default" plan,
they will receive messaging stating that they must now choose a real sub
plan in order to use the planning tool. 

 

We are very excited about this feature and look forward to more of your
feedback! Thank you for all of your help thus far.

 

If anyone has any questions, please have them contact me. I can also meet in
person with advisors to go over this default plan or to go over the new
features in Smart Planner.
