For your reference - the new CALS transfer students were also invited to
the UA Clicks session Freshman are required to attend on Friday August 23.
We invited them to this session so they can also attend the CALS Alumni
Mixer Event following the UA Clicks Session.

They can still participate in the August 24 session listed below since it
will be specifically tailored to that population.

Best,

Nancy

Subject: [UPAC] Transfer Welcome

Hello All,

As many of you may know the Transfer Orientation Task Force meet during the
spring semester to discuss the ways in which we serve our transfer students
through their transition to the UA. One of the committee's recommendations
was providing an opportunity for transfer students to connect with one
another, resources, and campus prior to the start of the school year. As a
result of this suggestion, New Student Orientation will be piloting a
Transfer Welcome program Saturday, August 24th. The program will take place
in Social Sciences 100 from 8:30am-12:00pm. The program is free and
optional for Transfer students.

Items to be covered will include a campus welcome from the Dean of
Admissions, campus resource information, code of academic integrity,
technology on campus, financial aid information and the opportunity for
students to meet other new transfer students and support staff.

Emails have been sent to all transfer students with the invite to
participate in this event along with a link to register for the event. The
registration for the event can be found on the Transfer site, Orientation
and Welcome site. Please feel free to invite your students to attend! We
would love to use this pilot as an opportunity to develop a larger scale
welcome program for our incoming transfer class.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly!

Thank you,

Stefanie
