Subject: New Class Search feature

 

Good afternoon,

 

With the Fall 2012 Schedule of Classes that went live for the public to view
today, a new feature has been added to the Class Search. Previously, the
Course Subject field displayed only the description for each department's
name, and users could only see the subject prefix on the search results page
for each course. The Course Subject field now displays the subject prefix,
followed by the subject description for each department. This addition will
help to differentiate departments with similar names, and will assist users
that want to search for a course for which they know the prefix and catalog
number, but not the department name. The Course Subject drop-down menu will
be alphabetized based on the subject prefix, so the order of some
departments within the menu will be slightly different.
