Happy New Year Agvisors!

Hope you all had a great Holiday break. This email includes various updates.

International Orientation - Spring 2012:
As of today the there are no students signed up for the International Orientation (refer to Maria Bueno's email). Kyle Sharp will be sending an email to the Agvisors listserv tomorrow around 4:00pm if any students do end up attending the College Meeting. In the meantime do keep the International Student Orientation advising time reserved for Thursday January 5th at 10:00am.

Associate Dean of Academic Programs candidate meetings:
Friendly reminder - Agvisors have been invited to meet with the candidates for the Associate Dean of Academic Programs position. Your participation and input will be greatly appreciated.
January 9th with Dr. Robert Torres in Saguaro Hall 219 (9:00 – 10:00 a.m.)
January 10th with Dr. Joy Winzerling in Forbes 307 (10:00 – 11:00 a.m.)
January 11th with Dr. Elaine Marchello in Saguaro Hall 219 (10:00 – 11:00 a.m.)

Peer Mentor Nominations:
Please send me any nominations for potential peer mentors to assist CALS with the probation class, CALS 195A, this Spring 2012. I will shortly send the probation reports to each department and you will notice that we have 79 new Freshman on academic probation. We will make the class mandatory for students that have B deficits of 6 or higher (51 total students) so peer mentors will be a great asset to the class. Peer mentors can earn internship credits under CALS 393 or 493, if interested. Training will be provided. Send me your nominations by this Friday. Thanks in advance!

Freshman Orientation - Spring 2012:
January 9th is the "one-day" Freshman Orientation with advising scheduled from 2:00-3:30pm. I've attached the list as of today which includes 4 students. If you have any updates on the advisor listed for your major send it to Maria Bueno at mbueno at ag.arizona.edu or call her at 621-3616.

December Agvisor Retreat follow up:
Attached are compilations of the FAQ's and Spring 2012 Planning sheets you shared at the Agvisors retreat. If you have additional items, send them my way. The FAQ will help us with the CALS Monday Message Newsletter and it could also help you with your website, handouts, information sessions, etc.

Thanks in advance for you time and feedback. I wish you all a prosperous and wonderful 2012!

Best,
Nancy
