TUESDAY MORNING NOTES - SPECIAL NOTICE

We wanted to let everyone know that one of CALS Administrations longtime
employees, Carol Chivers, passed away this past Sunday evening.  Carol had
battled cancer several years ago and it returned recently.  Her memorial
service will be held this Saturday, September 10, at 11:00 am at the
Redeemer Lutheran Church, 8845 N. Silverbell Road (north of Little Abner's
Steakhouse), Tucson.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to
Redeemer Lutheran School and Church.  If you would like to send cards to her
husband, Bob Chivers, they can go to

Carol Jean was born in Lacrosse, Wisconsin on January 26, 1934 to Gustav and
Laura Baum Koch.  She became a baptized child of God at First Evangelical
Lutheran Church in Lacrosse.  On May 9, 1948 she reaffirmed her faith by
being confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Holmen, Wisconsin.
Carol was the youngest of four children.  One, her brother Ralph survives
her.  She was preceded in death by her brother Harold and sister Ruth.  She
spent her school years in the public schools in Galesville, Wisconsin
graduating from Galesville High School in 1951.  In the fall of 1951 Carol
entered college at The Stout Institute in Menomonie, Wisconsin and graduated
from there in 1955 with a B.S. in Home Economics Education.  She taught Home
Economics in Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin and Tucson, Arizona.  Carol ended her
working years when she retired from the administrative office of the College
of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Arizona as an
accountant in April 1996 after working there nearly 22 years.  Carol married
Robert Stone in 1957 and were blessed with two children, Rita and David.
They later divorced.  Carol married Robert Chivers on December 18, 1971 and
survives her.  Her church life at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church began
in 1982 and she remained a faithful member until her death.  Since Carol and
Bob were married in a civil service they renewed their vows on December 1996
at Redeemer.  Carol was cremated and her remains will be interred with her
husband Bob upon his death in Vernal, Utah.
