FOCUS ON FACULTY:

 

Congratulations to Elizabeth Sparks who has begun working as an Assistant
Agent, 4-H Youth Development in Pima County.  She will be working in two of
4-H's "priority areas" including Healthy Lifestyles and Connecting Youth
with the Outdoors.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

 

The Water Resources Research Center announces the third candidate seminar of
four on Friday, September 2, 9:30-10:30am at the Sol Resnick Conference
Room, WRRC, 350 N. Campbell Avenue, Tucson, for the position of Associate
Director and Associate-Full Research Scientist.  This position is part of a
university wide environmental hiring initiative with partial funding support
from the TRIF Water, Environmental and Energy Solutions initiative.  The
seminar title is Fine-scale Environmental Modeling and its Applications to
Policy Issues by Dr. Joseph Zehnder, Professor and Chair Department of
Atmospheric Sciences, Creighton University, Omaha.  Dr. Zehnder has held
previous faculty positions at UA and ASU and his talk will present an
overview of methods used to provide short to medium range, high-resolution
forecasts of environmental parameters such as wind, pressure, temperature
