Dear Colleague,

I hope this finds you well. I am excited to share a new job posting in the Adaptive Management Unit at the Delta Stewardship Council<https://www.calcareers.ca.gov/CalHrPublic/Jobs/JobPosting.aspx?JobControlId=382754>—please share with any relevant individuals or listservs!

We are looking for a candidate who has a background in ecosystem restoration and/or ecosystem management and would be excited about collaborative work with a broad network of government stakeholders, academics, tribes, and community groups at the science, policy, and management interface in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. This is a very active time for restoration in the Delta, with many thousands of acres of tidal wetlands, non-tidal wetlands, and riparian floodplains recently restored and many more planned and in-progress. The SES/ES will work on a variety of initiatives in the system (see below for details).

Please note that this job is cross posted as both Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist)<https://jobs.ca.gov/JOBSGEN/PB104.PDF> and Environmental Scientist<https://calcareers.ca.gov/CalHrPublic/Exams/Bulletin.aspx?examCD=9PB01> (Range A-C), and we will be interviewing an equal number of candidates for both job classifications (see Duty Statement for both classes attached). Positions in the Delta Science Program are hybrid, and typically worked mostly from home, with approximately 1-3 days of in-person attendance per month on an as-needed basis.

If you or any of your colleagues has questions about the position or the CA State Job Exam Process for these positions, please let me know, I am happy to chat 😊. This position is back-filling the vacancy I left when I started as the Environmental Program Manager for the Unit, and I am the supervisor for this position.

Thanks!

Dylan

*Apologies for any cross posting*
