Professor Ervin H. Zube Graduate Student Scholarships
 
  
 
Erv Zube: "one of a small number of outstanding researcher-practitioners who created modern landscape planning. His many studies helped shape contemporary practice in this field, and his work has had important impacts on public landscape policy."
 

 
  
 
We are seeking applications for the Ervin Zube Graduate Student Scholarships. This scholarship fund was established to honor the career and research of Professor Zube, who served as Director and Professor at the School of Natural Resources & the Environment from 1977 to 1996.  Professor Zube was a primary force among environment-behavior researchers and this award was created to encourage graduate students in Natural Resources and Landscape Design who follow in his footsteps with studies that address the social and policy dimensions in Natural Resources. 
 
Applicants for these scholarships should be full-time graduate students in SNRE who are committed to careers in education and who are conducting research that meets one of more of the following criteria:
    
   - Research that addresses Landscape Perceptions and Assessments
   - Research that facilitates the fusion of diverse disciplines
   - Research with direct relevancy to Natural Resource Policy
   - Research the focuses on Human Dimensions
 
  
 
For Fall Semester, scholarships of at least $2,000 will be awarded. 
    
   - Applicants should apply to the Scholarship Universe first and 
   - provide 1 letter of recommendation (preferably from a faculty member) and a brief statement (one page max.) that provides: 
    
   - Name of Applicant 
   - Name of Graduate Faculty Advisor
   - PhD or MS degree and Option within the Natural Resources Major
   - Number of semesters completed within SNRE
   - Title or topic of research
   - Graduate GPA 
   - Brief description of how you meet the Zube Scholarship criteria, above.
 
  
 
Applicants should be sent part 2 of the application to Professor Randy Gimblett by 16 April 2021, COB.
