Dryland ecology/botany researchers,
We're hiring a field crew lead (Master's degree) or post-doc to help design, manage, and contribute to research understanding the effects of solar energy development on Mojave Desert plants and ecosystems. The job announcements below are vague, but we're hoping to find someone with excellent skills designing field studies, conducting vegetation monitoring; organizing, planning, and leading field work; QA/QC and analyzing data. At the post-doc level, we're hoping to find someone who can help lead the writing of peer-reviewed papers.

While not required, it would be great to find someone who is already well-versed in identifying Mojave Desert plant species and familiar with desert or dryland ecosystems. While the job is focused on assessing how vegetation responds to solar energy development, the most qualified applicant would have some additional skills in remote sensing/imagery analysis, GIS and spatial modeling, setting up and maintaining soil moisture/temp probes and weather stations. The position will require extensive field work in extreme desert environments (rugged terrain, temps can exceed 100F).
