Hi everyone!
I hope you are all doing well and are settling into the semester! As we get
into a routine, I just wanted to give out some general information about
URME and about how this year will go.
Firstly, for those of you who have not participated before, URME stands for
the Undergraduate Range Management Exam. It is a student competition hosted
by the Society for Range Management and administered every year at the SRM
conference. The purpose of the test is to provide an opportunity for
undergraduate students to demonstrate higher order learning skills and
synthesize knowledge of the art and science of rangeland management. It is
open to any undergraduate student - all are welcome! Participants who take
the URME and score in the top 10% of students qualify as a Certified
Professional in Rangeland Management (CPRM)! Another one of the benefits of
being involved in URME is that you are eligible to receive 2 credits if you
participate in weekly, 2-hour study sessions on top of your individual
preparation, and commit to representing the U of A by taking the URME in
February! These credits can be taken either this fall or next spring
semester with information about enrolling below:

Subsequent URME practice sessions will be held at that time, so make sure
that the 2-hour blocks you choose will work in your schedule! Please
indicate all available times so we can accommodate as many students as
possible!* Please respond by this Friday, 9/11/2020*, to ensure that we are
set to meet next week. Once a date and time has been chosen, we will send
out a follow-up email with a link to the meeting.
