    Dear Rangeland Partner,

The University of Idaho’s Rangeland Center is happy to announce that we are looking for an Associate Director. First consideration will be given those who submit an application by June 12, 2017.    Please forward this to anyone you can think of who would like to advance the important work of the Rangeland Center. Our mission is to “create knowledge and foster understanding of the stewardship and management of rangelands.” We promote active partnerships with individuals, organizations, and communities who live, work, and recreate on rangelands. We serve current and future generations to promote stewardship of rangelands, which are vital to the ecological, economic, and social health of Idaho and the region.    We are looking for a person who cares for natural resources, agriculture, and rangelands, and understands the social economic, and ecological dynamics of this landscape. This person must be well-organized, responsive, and able to communicate with diverse publics in the challenging environment of Idaho’s rangelands.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Rangeland Center, and will work closely with the Rangeland Center Director, and the Rangeland Center Communications Specialist and College of Natural Resources Marketing Specialist. This individual will be responsible for working with university faculty, staff, and students, maintaining active coordination with the College of Natural Resources  Forest Utilization Research (FUR) programs, University Extension, and College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The Assistant Director will also work closely with the Rangeland Center Partners Advisory Council, and externally with the public, elected officials, federal/state/local agencies, and various organizations to help take the Rangeland Center into a new era of research and education collaboration. We are looking for someone who can build and strengthen partnerships, work collaboratively, and enhance the visibility of the University of Idaho’s Rangeland Center.    This position requires a Master’s degree and four years of work experience in a natural resources-related field.
Salary range: $51,294 - $57,706 per year. The position is open in Moscow or Boise, Idaho, subject to negotiation.
