Subject: AmeriCorps FLCC Opportunities for 2017    Good afternoon All;    My name is Lauren Natwick and I am the Assistant Program Coordinator for the Florida Conservation Corps (FLCC). We are currently recruiting for the 2017 term. We are looking for candidates to fill 65 AmeriCorps member positions to serve in Florida State Parks. I’d ask that you forward this information to individuals who may be interested in serving with us. For convenience, I have provided a Frequently Asked Questionsattachment.                                         To provide you with a brief introduction of our current program’s projects, the Florida Conservation Corps (FLCC) is an office within the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Division of Recreation and Parks, which operates an AmeriCorps National Service Program. Our AmeriCorps members serve 1,700 hours in an 11 month term (February – December) and contribute directly to natural resource management, public engagement, and volunteer recruitment. In return for their service, members receive a monthly living stipend of $1,140 and upon successful completion of their term they are eligible for a Segal Education Award of $5,775. We are currently recruiting for our 2017 term that will begin February 1st, and we’ll have 65 positions to fill. Our 2017 project areas are described below:    Project A.N.T.(AmeriCorpsNonnative plant Terminators) Fifty Project A.N.T. members will serve in pairs at 25 host park locations, listed in theattached infographic. These members will focus on invasive exotic plant species management, primarily through survey and treatment in state parks.    Individuals excited about doing direct natural resource management and protecting Florida’s valuable ecosystems, while also spending much of their time in the field would enjoy Project A.N.T. Interested persons can find the application here: Project A.N.T. Application     Project R.O.A.R.(RegionalOutreach and AwarenessRecruiters) One Project R.O.A.R. member will serve in each Florida Park Service District (five total members), focused on outreach and interpretation, as well as volunteer recruitment. These members will support their Project A.N.T. and Project T.R.E.C. field counterparts, as well as each District in achieving their outreach and volunteer management goals.    The ideal Project R.O.A.R. members will have positive attitudes, and enjoy working with people! The member application for this project can be found here:Project R.O.A.R. Application    Project T.R.E.C.(TrailRestoration and EnhancementCorps) Ten Project T.R.E.C. members will serve as part of a traveling team focused on trail projects throughout the state. These members will be based out of Gainesville, led by two AmeriCorps member team leaders, and supported by FLCC staff.     Project T.R.E.C. members need to be team players, have ability to travel frequently, and a desire to serve in many of Florida’s state parks. Anyone interested in this project area can apply here:Project T.R.E.C. Application    Thank you for your assistance, and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.    Thanks, Lauren Natwick Assistant Program Coordinator Florida Conservation Corps Division of Recreation and Parks Department of Environmental Protection
