Subject: Elk/LD Monitoring Day Friday 11/7/14
Hi all~
Just a reminder that the Elkhorn/Las Delicias Monitoring Day is Friday, November 7th. Dan Robinett will be kicking things off at 8:30, with a target of ending around 3-4. We'll meet along the Elkhorn Road, near the project site (see directions below). Please be sure to bring lunch, water, a hat, sunscreen and appropriate footwear. If you have a plant book that you like, feel free to bring that, too.
If you'd like to know more about the project, please visit this website: http://www.altarvalleyconservation.org/cooperative-conservation/conservation/elklddemo/
Please RSVP to sehking at gmail.com<mailto:sehking at gmail.com> by this Friday, October 31st. Please tell us if you've been to an Elk/LD monitoring day before and whether you've done general plant monitoring. We'll be dividing into four teams, so knowing your plant ID comfort will help us to spread the experience among the groups.
Also, please note that you will need to sign the AVCA release form, which is attached to this e-mail, if you'd like to read it beforehand.
Please let me know if there are any questions!
Thanks,
Sarah King

Directions to Elk/LD Project Site: Go south on Route 286/S. Sasabe Road. Go through the Border Patrol checkpoint. Shortly after the BP checkpoint, you will see a large green “Elkhorn Ranch” sign. Take this right turn onto a dirt road. (If you pass mile marker 25, you've gone too far.) Continue to the third cattleguard. This is the project site. Ranch address is 27000 W Elkhorn Ranch Road, Tucson, AZ 85736. From Tucson, it will likely take you about an hour and a half.
