Hello Tierra Seca members!

As discussed is our meeting on Wednesday, we will be taking a weekend at
the end of Spring Break to visit Alanna Riggs' mom's ranch.

The dates are Friday March 16 - Sunday March 18.

We will probably leave around 1pm on Friday afternoon and return sometime
in the early afternoon on Sunday,

If you can only make it for one or two of those days, you are welcome to
still come out. We will have opportunities available for carpooling (for
example, I can only go for Friday and Saturday, but I can fit two more
people in my vehicle if there is somebody else who can only go for those
two days). It is possible that the club will also be able to reimburse you
for gasoline from the drive. If you can take a truck out there, that would
be more preferred, but a car will make it out there just fine.

It takes about an hour to get there (east on I-10 toward Wilcox). Please
email me if you would like to drive yourself and I will give you directions
and a contact phone number.

If you plan to stay overnight, make sure to bring your camping gear! (Tent
if you want it, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, bowl, spoon/fork, cup, etc.).
Also, bring proper shoes and clothing, and a hat is recommended. I expect
that the weather will be nice, but there's a slight chance of rain, so make
sure to bring a jacket and warm clothes!

The club will provide the following meals: Friday Dinner, Saturday
breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Sunday breakfast. Bring your own snacks.
The club will also have some water jugs to refill your water bottles as
well as hot cocoa mix. You are welcome to bring your own alcoholic
beverages.

We will have a variety of activities to do, including: tour of the ranch,
hiking, rock climbing, potentially branding cattle, and other ranch related
tasks (creating check dams, etc.). We will have a big St. Patrick's Day
bonfire on Saturday night, too. Suggestions for other activities are always
welcome.

It is important that we know about how many people will be attending so
that we know how much food to get or if we need to wait for somebody to
make it out to the ranch before the group goes off somewhere. *Please email
me (khawkes at email.arizona.edu) or Cameron Becker (clb4 at email.arizona.edu)
to let us know if you will be coming and for which days you will be there*.
Also, let us know if you would like to arrange to carpool with somebody
else.

Thanks!
