Dear RISG co-chairs,

This information about possibilities of publishing in The Rangeland Journal may also be of interest to members of your regional groups. Please share it with them.

By the way, the Australian Rangeland Society will be hosting the International Rangeland Congress in 2025 in Adelaide and is working closely together with the IYRP Global Coordinating Group in this endeavour - see the first announcement here:

> Dear all,
>
> The Rangeland Journal (www.publish.csiro.au/RJ <http://www.publish.csiro.au/RJ>), published by the Australian Rangeland Society and CSIRO, includes articles about rangelands across the globe – not only in Australia. It has tended in the past to focus more on biophysical issues but includes also articles related to people’s use and management of natural resources in arid and semiarid areas. It seeks to give more attention to social, cultural, economic and policy issues in the rangelands.
>
> The journal defines “rangelands” broadly as all geographic areas where natural ecological processes predominate and where values and benefits are based primarily on natural resources.
>
> Papers may present the results of original research, contributions to theory, practice or policy, or new conclusions reached from a review of a topic. The structure of the papers need not conform to that of standard scientific articles, but writing style must be clear and concise. All papers are peer reviewed. You can also benefit from some expert editorial advice to improve your work. Especially the editor-in-chief, Paul Novelly, devotes an amazing amount of time and effort to this.
>
> Key topics covered by The Rangeland Journal include several to which people working on pastoralism might like to contribute, e.g.:
>
> Social–economic–ecological systems
> Livestock, wildlife and niche-market production systems
> Resilience of systems
> Governance and policy
> Adaptive capacity and innovation
> Cultural heritage values
> Remote living
> You can submit your article online (mc.manuscriptcentral.com/csiro-rj <http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/csiro-rj>). For information about preparing your article, see: publish.csiro.au/rj/forauthors <http://publish.csiro.au/rj/forauthors> – and note: there are no mandatory publishing charges. See also the attached flyer.
>
> As one of the Associate Editors of the journal, I look forward to seeing your articles being submitted!
