Dear colleagues,
We cordially invite you to the following IFAD event at COP26:
* When? Wednesday, 3 November 2021, 11:30 - 13:00 (GMT)
* Where? IFAD pavilion at COP26 or follow the event on Zoom<https://storm-virtual-uk.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_WaB418nfR6GG-hIgyVbVdQ>
A resilient and low-emission livestock sector is possible. This event will share successful examples of low or zero-net GHG emissions of livestock production, and will discuss challenges and difficulties of leading towards investments and policy formulation that support resilient and low-emission livestock development.
Special focus will be on IFAD’s support to the Government of Kyrgyzstan - a country where 85% of the agricultural area is used as pastures for grazing. GIZ will elaborate how they supported the Government to include the livestock sector into the updated NDCs.
FAO will discuss how they support IFAD operations in finding options to reduce GHG emission while increasing productivity.
The Global Dairy Platform and Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation will present their efforts towards low-emission livestock production.
