Hello Rangelands Partnership!
We are hard at work preparing for our virtual Annual Meeting scheduled for Monday-Tuesday<outlook-data-detector://19>, March 30-31<outlook-data-detector://20>!
Due to varying time zones (Hawaii to East Coast), we are shortening the length of the meeting each day. Instead of 8-9 hours, the meetings will run about 6 hours (with breaks). We also want to make the time as interactive as possible to avoid Zoom-induced zone out. To that end, we have several requests for preparing for state report presentations and participation in the meeting.
State report presenters - Action by March 25<outlook-data-detector://21>
* For presenters, we ask that you prepare a 5 minute state report presentation, and record it over PowerPoint slides (see awesome how-to from Karen Launchbaugh<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhPdEWQhihE&feature=youtu.be>!).
* In terms of the format, please use whatever suits you but keep in mind, limit to 5 minutes. If you'd like, you can use one of these formats for guidance, including Ignite-style presentation<https://nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fspeakingaboutpresenting.com%2Fcontent%2Ffast-ignite-presentation%2F&data=02%7C01%7CRetta.Bruegger%40colostate.edu%7C703ab2b207134222206808d7ca1e809c%7Cafb58802ff7a4bb1ab21367ff2ecfc8b%7C0%7C0%7C637200104668996285&sdata=ry3MHYCRGlEDADAS85XsVjIV68k5b0pfJW9y1IcVrGU%3D&reserved=0>, a StoryMap or other creative communication technique (like Cowboy poetry, haikus, etc).
* Once you've recorded yourself, please send the video to Amber Dalke at adalke at arizona.edu<mailto:adalke at arizona.edu> by March 25<outlook-data-detector://22>.
* Usually these reports highlight work you've done on your webpage (or other sites) in the last year, other Extension/ librarian work, and research - basically, anything you and your colleagues are working on that might be of interest to others. In the past, these have been great ways to quickly learn about programs in other states, and share what you are doing.
Everyone
* We will post the videos of the state reports to a Box site and the Rangelands Partnership Member Site by March 27.<outlook-data-detector://23>
* We ask that all meeting participants watch the video state reports before the RP meeting on March 30<outlook-data-detector://24>.<outlook-data-detector://24> At the RP meeting, we will be asking each of you to comment on the state reports - for example, on highlights, common themes, common challenges, and beyond. We are working on ways to have a dynamic meeting that will be more interesting and keep us awake!
* In the words of Karen Launchbaugh: "While this might be extra work, think of the time you are saving not flying/ driving to Tucson"!
More to come including details about the Zoom session, agenda, start times, etc.!
Looking forward to trailblazing a new type of virtual meeting. Thanks so much to the AZ team for their work and flexibility.
Best,
Retta (and Barb)
