Hi All,
Due to low applications, we're extending the deadline for students to apply to the Diana Liverman Scholars Program for the 2024-2025 academic year through Sunday June 30th at 11:59pm!
The Diana Liverman Scholars Program accepts students from any major with any GPA who have completed at least one college level English course. This includes incoming students with AP or dual enrollment credits, so please feel free to share this opportunity at orientations!
Students can apply at https://uarizona.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1MG27wuxOh1MSO2. Any questions can be directed to me at maiaschneider at arizona.edu<mailto:maiaschneider at arizona.edu>.
The Diana Liverman Scholars Program <https://air.arizona.edu/liverman-scholars> provides students with experiential and field-based opportunities to develop skills in science communication and environmental storytelling. Scholars will work with a non-profit community partner to enhance their mission and effective practice through communication projects. This year's partners will be the Environmental Defense Fund Youth Water Leadership Coalition and Ishkashitaa Refugee Network. Liverman Scholars will participate in 3-4 day long/overnight expeditions throughout the year in addition to a weekly skill building workshop and receive mentorship from faculty, graduate student, and peer undergraduate mentors. Accepted participants will receive 2 academic credits and $500 per semester for their work.
Regards,
