Happy First Day of Classes everyone! c: I hope that for everyone returning, you had a lovely winter break, and were able to rest and recover, and that you are looking forward to this semester and the opportunities it brings. To everyone new to Plant Sciences, welcome! c: It's so nice to have you and to start working with you this semester. A few reminders for dates and deadlines, as well as resources and contact information for you all.

* We are no longer using eSMS to make appointments and have switched over to using CatCloud. * For quick or urgent questions, you can also attend our CALES CAS Drop-In Hours<https://ua-trellis.my.site.com/uastudent/s/catcloud/services/calendar?GroupId=a0g3n000006vhBY>! We have virtual and in-person drop-in hours where you can meet with a general advisor for quick questions or difficulties that you may be experiencing.
* Important Dates and Deadlines!
* You can find may of these dates here on this calendar<https://registrar.arizona.edu/dates-and-deadlines>, but I would like to highlight a few that are important to you all as well. As a reminder, and a word of advice - should anything happen, that will impact your ability to complete courses or participate in courses, please reach out to your advisor or a general advisor as soon as possible so we can assist you. c:
* January 10, 2024 - First day to file a Grade Replacement Opportunity (GRO).
* January 15, 2024 - Martin Luther King Day, no classes.
* January 17, 2024 - Last day to add, change, or adjust classes on UAccess.
* January 18, 2024 - Instructor approval and a Change of Schedule form is required to ADD or CHANGE classes.
* January 23, 2024 - Last day to drop a course without a W on your transcript, and the last day for refunds on classes.
* January 24, 2024 - All dropped classes begin appearing as a W on your transcript.
* February 1, 2024 - Last day to apply for Spring Graduation without a late fee.
* March 4, 2024 - Instructor and Dean signatures are required to ADD or CHANGE classes.
* March 4 - March 10 - Spring Break
* March 26, 2024 - Last day to file a GRO, and to withdraw from a class through UAccess.
* March 27, 2024 - Instructor and Dean signatures required on a Late Change Petition to drop a class with extraordinary reason for approval.
* April 9, 2024 - Last day to submit a Late Change Petition.
* May 1, 2024 - Last day to request a complete withdrawal from all classes in the term, and the last day of classes!
* May 2, 2024 - Reading Day
* May 3, 2024 - Final exams begin.
* Spring 2024 Graduation
* Congratulations on making it to your final semester! : DD If you are graduating, please remember to submit your graduation application by February 1st to avoid a late fee. There are instructions on how to apply on the flyer attached to this email. After applying, please make an appointment with your major advisor to go over your degree and make sure you are eligible for graduation.
* If you are making an appointment with me, please send an additional email letting me know - it takes extra time to prepare for these appointments, and I would greatly appreciate it. Also, I don't want to make you sit in my office while I struggle to remember how to count, it's embarrassing for us all. c;
* Make sure you are keeping an eye on CALES newsletters as well! You will find important information on where, how, and when you need to be doing certain things by for graduation.
If you find you need any help with anything at all, academic, personal, psychological, home life, maybe you just need a pencil, please don't hesitate to reach out and ask. c: Your advisors are here to help, and we are more than happy to do so. And if we don't know the answer, we can get you connected with whoever does. I hope you all have a great rest of your week, and that your classes are exciting and fun, and I look forward to hearing from you soon! c:
